Woven belting

We have seen this British made webbing described elsewhere as knitted, and from the front it certainly has the appearance of stockinette. However the manufacturer describes it as woven, and on deconstruction it is clear that each chain stitch in a row is formed with a different thread, and worked around a horizontal core.  It does not have the give that is typical of knitted fabrics, and is therefore ideal for bag handles, belts and braces.
